[Kyoto] Kyoto to enjoy with children!Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a great spot for family to visit.

Japan with Family

It is a record of the walk of Kiyomizu-dera Temple in summer.I have tried Yasaka Shrine several times with my children, but until Kiyomizu-dera Temple…It’s hard to walk there with small children for me.But in fact, it is a recommended area that can be enjoyed even with children!

At Kiyomizu-dera Temple

[Kiyomizu-dera Temple] How could I get there?

For access to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, I went to the nearest place by train or bus, and went up the slope from there, but this time I stopped at the municipal Kiyomizu-derazaka parking lot closest to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The fee is fixed if it is not a crowded day, so you may be able to use it if it is an empty morning on weekdays.Of course, there are municipal and private parking lots around Ninenzaka, Koenji Temple, and Yasaka Shrine, so it is recommended that you choose according to the destination you want to go to.

We always used a municipal parking lot near Yasaka Shrine, but this time we used the parking lot of Kiyomizu-dera Temple.I go up the slope a little until I get to the entrance, so I have to be careful, but the parking lot was very large (it was like a place where sightseeing buses used parking), and there was a restroom.Because it is one slope to Kiyomizu-dera Temple from the parking lot, it is easy even with a small child.

The flow was smooth. At Kiyomizu-dera Temple, strollers become challengers, so a cuddle string or a simple buggy is good.

From Yasaka to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, I feel a little hard for small children.Of course, there are a lot of shops in the middle of the slope, so you will not get bored, but parents may get tired by the time you get there.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: First of all, we went to the main gate! The souvenir shop also head by the glance.

After arriving, we went to the main gate first. When the shop etc. were not available yet, the children did not stop, and it was possible to arrive at the entrance of Kiyomizu-dera easily. There are few people in the morning, so it’s easy.

In front of Niomon Gate, the entrance of Kiyomizu-dera Temple

I wonder if children will be bored because they can take a leisurely stroll through the shrines and waterfalls while visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple and looking at the scenery.And.From the main gate to the exit, there are only gentle slopes and a little stairs.

It is not possible to enter the museum now, but there is a temple where you can experience “intranatal tour”.The inside is pitch black, and it proceeds while holding the rope.If you resume entering the museum, please try it!

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Are there many photo spots? The scenery of Kyoto is perfect, too!

As the name suggests, it has a very good view and offers a panoramic view of Kyoto. When I look down from the main hall, the children are also excited. It is powerful and very attractive.

There is an Omikuji in the main hall, but my son pulled it.It’s very severe.I was completely depressed on the stage in Kiyomizu, so it was good to improve my level by re-starting here.Because children think that “Daikyou” comes out and pull it, it is likely to have seen the reality only at this time.

From amida-do-e

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: A place where children were seriously excited for some reason

The Jinushi shrine is famous as the good of marriage. My son seemed to understand the meaning of “good relationship” and asked me seriously about his troubles.

Speaking of marriage!The Jinushi Shrine

There was also a wish that it was Hitogata-pray.If you write down your worries and things you want to solve, and float them on the water, they will disappear. My six-year-old son wrote the hiragana he had just learned and asked for covid’s end.

My son is looking forward to melting.
At the Jinushi Shrine

This little one is actually quite heavy. The rabbit was cute, and my daughter was taking pictures too. There were many places to visit the shrine, and the children were politely worshiping one place at a time.

Even if it is a wish stone, the daughter struggles!

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: When you get tired, you can take a rest at the tea shop and be healed by the sound of the waterfall.

From the main hall to Otowa Falls. As you pass through Amida-do from the main hall, you will see a gentle slope. After that, Otowa Falls appears in front of the tea shop.

And, here, the tea shop rests.I had the shaved ice of Uji Matcha slowly outside.Drinks such as tea and eating and drinking are also available, so children’s stomachs can be filled.

The water at Otowa Falls is very cold and beautiful. The children were also very good at it.After that, I walked to the main gate, but I found a dragonfly in the pond on the way!He was very good at grasping it by hand.It happened that a passing uncle said, “I’ll get together this way,” and when I clapped my hand, a carps came up to me from all over the place! When the children also imitated and clapped their hands, a big carp came out one after another and was surprised! !

Catch dragonfly by hand!

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: After the visit, Mr. Shichimiya visited Sannenzaka to Nienzaka as a landmark.

Leave the main gate and go down the hill.Because the shop is open, Malebranche shop, which is famous for the sweets of green tea called tea cake, and the old-fashioned shop are also vacant, and because it is downhill, children enjoyed it.

When I turned to the right of the Shichimiya-san, the stairs continued, and I went to Sannzaka. There are many shops which you can buy souvenir and have lunch You can see the accessories shops, pickle shops, Yojiya Kurochiku, etc.

The road down to Sannonzaka, Shichimiya on the left hand side

When you go from Sannzaka to Ninozaka, you will see the tower of Yasaka. The tower of Yasaka can be seen very close from the street of Yasaka. There is SODOH ahead, and it is a wedding hall, but there is also a restaurant where you can enjoy Italian course meals. It seemed to be a reservation system now, but it is recommended because it is a very nice restaurant.

My family went out from Sannzaka to Yasaka-do and went from one year slope to two years slope. With this route, you can enjoy various shops and scenery through all the slopes.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Where can I have lunch? There are a lot of souvenir shops, too!Let’s enjoy it slowly with children!

I’m hungry when I’m loitering. There are many shops where you can have lunch.Because it is crowded at lunch time, it is recommended to shift the time a little.Speaking of Kyoto!I want to eat tofu, so I went to a restaurant where I could have a tofu lunch.

We had tofu lunch for about 1500 yen.

If you go down to Yasaka Shrine, there are many more lunch spots, but the free time and time are irregular, so I couldn’t eat the Oyakodon by Hisago again this time.

There are a lot of souvenir shops, too. There are also Umeboshi specialty stores and Shichimiya-san, so you can enjoy it a new time.

As an aside, on my way home, I found the shop of “Yoshimura” which has its head reutaurant in Arashiyama in front of the Kiyomizu-zaka parking lot.I will tell you in Arashiyama article, but you can have a very delicious SOBA lunch!
